Event Description:
Stilbaai Funduro 2019
The Stilbaai Funduro is a new event on the calendar and promises to become an annual funduro providing an exciting 150 km one way loop. The track is not recommended for beginners and kids on small bikes due to the nature of the terrain and the distance. There will be two refuel points on the track and riders need to bring two extra fuel cans with that are clearly marked. Only one loop is permitted and medals will be issued to all finishers. There is no cut-off time and the last rider in will mark the end of the event.
The track is 40% technical and 60% moderate to easy. The technical section is the first 50km of the loop and consist of rocky, limestone single tracks and steep fire breaks. The single tracks cuts through fynbos and rooipitjie infested areas. There are two red loop sections on the track, consisting of very steep and loose fire breaks with a couple of step ups, but can be bypassed by means of a green loop. About 80km of the track is moderate to easy and consist of sandy jeep tracks and hard packed gravel sections.
Due to the nature of the track there were will be a few road crossings and sections on public gravel roads. The total route will be clearly marked and marshals will be placed along the route at strategic areas. There are no river crossings.
The start and finish will be at The Stables, just before the entrance to the town of Stilbaai. The Stables is a restaurant and will also act as the registration point for riders. Ablution and bar facilities are available at The Stables.

The Stables, take the Stilbaai turn off from the N2. The event is approximately 28km from Stilbaai just before the entrance to the town.
